BOSTON – The Boston University women's track & field team recorded five top-10 program marks to finish out the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday. Freshman

Daisy Liljegren and the 4x400m relay team all found spots on the Top-10 Terrier list at the meet.

In the 200m dash, Smith ran a 24.50 to place sixth and set the 10th-best BU time in the event. Fellow freshmen
Ijeoma Ezechukwu (25.09) and
Chinonye Moneme (26.09) also competed.
Â
Another top-10 program mark was set in the 4x400m relay. The team of juniorÂ
Isabela Shepard, Smith, Ezechukwu and grad student
Emma Montoya ran a 3:46.09 for the fifth-best time in program history. Their performance helped them to a first-place finish in the event.

Lauren Sikoski were a part of a four-way tie for seventh in the pole vault. They each cleared 3.30m (10' 10") which was a personal best for Rosen and tied for the 10th-best vault in BU history.Â

In the mile run, Sjöberg led the Terriers with a 14th-place finish. She ran a 4:43.05 for the sixth-best all-time BU performance in the event. Also running were grad student

Anna Kavanagh (5:26.42).

Liljegren competed in her first 3000m race of the season. She crossed the finish line with a time of 9:21.95 for the ninth-best time in BU history. Freshmen

Candace Tytler (10:52.98) and junior
Brynn Siles also ran for the Terriers.

Sophomore
Jamie Chamberlain competed in the long jump and recorded a distance of 5.07m (16' 7.75"). In the triple jump, sophomore
Emma Lawrence made a jump of 11.53m (37' 10"), good for fourth.Â

Two Terriers competed in the weight throw for BU. Freshman
Ellie Roan threw for 15.01m (49' 3") to place sixth and senior
Katherine George threw 12.48m (40' 11") to take 17th.

BU had five runners compete in the 800m race with all five placing in the top-50. Montoya (2:12.71) placed 19th, Shepard (2:12.98) took 22nd and freshmen
Lily Borin,
Alex Vellekoop and
Maura Woodland-Medenilla all ran within a 1.10 second spread of one another.

Outside of BU's performance, a new American record in the 1000m was set by Lucia Stafford of Nike. She finished in 2:33.75 to set the record.Â

The women's team will be back at the Track & Tennis Center on Friday (Feb. 3) for the distance medley relay as part of the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite which will begin at 8 p.m. Both the men's and women's teams will also compete at the Crimson Elite Meet on Friday at Harvard.
