Vince D'Alto and
Roy Meyer were both ranked among the top 50 men's players in college lacrosse by Inside Lacrosse, the publication announced this week, as D'Alto entered the countdown at No. 47 while Meyer was slotted at No. 14.
Arguably the best offensive player in the Patriot League this season. D'Alto led the Terriers in both goals (44) and points (68) while dishing out 24 assists. He was 10th in the NCAA last year with 4.86 points per game after recording at least one point in all 14 starts. Impressively, D'Alto committed just 15 turnovers, which was the fewest among the top-10 point producers per game in the country. D'Alto finished the season with 25 points in his last five games to help BU win its second straight Patriot League regular-season title. He also began the year with six straight games of five or more points and twice scored six goals in a game, including at Yale on April 4.
D'Alto, a two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection, became just the second Terrier in program history to record 200 career points and finished the year with 206 points on 126 goals and 80 assists. One of four Terriers to have scored 100 goals in their BU career, D'Alto is among the top three BU men's lacrosse players in goals, assists and points. He also ranks seventh among active NCAA players with 4.48 points per game.
Meyer, the highest ranked Patriot League player on this list, has firmly established himself as the best LSM in the country over the past two seasons. The only two-time First Team All-American in program history, Meyer once again helped BU rank first in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (12.07). He finished the year with a team-high 32 caused turnovers and was fourth in the country with 2.29 caused turnovers per game, finishing the season with 11 caused turnovers over his last three games. Meyer recorded at least two ground balls in all 14 games and his 64 ground balls ranked second on the squad behind only faceoff specialist
Conor Calderone. Meyer also scored a career-high three goals in 2023.
A two-time First Team All-Patriot League and Academic All-Patriot League honoree, Meyer is the only active player in the NCAA with over 100 caused turnovers. He tops the Terrier record book with 118 caused turnovers and is also fourth all-time (second among non-faceoff specialists) in program history with 183 ground balls. The E. Ray Speare Award winner as the department's top male senior scholar-athlete, Meyer has recorded an impressive 90 caused turnovers and 145 ground balls over the past two seasons.
