STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Boosted by sophomore
Otto Landrum's second career double-double, the Boston University men's basketball team rolled to a 73-59 victory at Wagner on Sunday afternoon.
The Terriers (4-6) earned their second consecutive road win by shooting 60.0 percent over the final 20 minutes, as the Seahawks (4-5) suffered their first home loss.
Landrum tallied a career-tying 19 points and personal-best 14 rebounds to lead BU, while junior
Ethan Okwuosa came up just two boards of a double-double with 12 points and three assists. Sophomore
Nico Nobili was the third Terrier in double figures at 12 points.
Zaire Williams was one of three Seahawks in double figures with 15 points, as Tahron Allen (13 pts.) and Julian Brown (10 pts.) came off the bench to combine for 23. Melvin Council Jr. directed the offense with five assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wagner flushed three 3-pointers to jump out to an 11-4 lead with 13:07 left in the half and four minutes later grabbed their largest lead, 19-11, at 9:42 on a layup.
- BU briefly cut the deficit to 19-17 at 7:26 on two free throws from freshman Matai Baptiste, but the Seahawks responded with a layup and 3-pointer to move ahead, 24-17.
- Junior Malcolm Chimezie followed with two free throws and a layup to spark an 10-0 run capped by an Okwuosa free throw at 3:06.
- After Wagner briefly retook the lead on a slam dunk and pair of free throws, Roy scored from behind the arc at 1:21 to help BU enter the locker room ahead for good, 30-28.
- Freshman Kyrone Alexander, senior Miles Brewster and Nobili started the second half with three consecutive layups to extend BU's lead to 37-28.
- With a 37-32 advantage, freshman Spencer Joyner flushed a 3-pointer to spark an 11-3 spurt capped by his own drive to the hoop at 12:40.
- Trying to mount a rally, Wagner chipped away to pull within six, 54-48, on two free throws at 7:53, but Okwuosa followed Landrum's slam dunk with a 3-pointer.
- Landrum's two free throws at 3:49 gave BU its largest lead of the game, 66-51.
GAME NOTES
- Landrum earned the Terriers' second double-double of the season after Okwuosa earned one in a home win vs. Bryant.
- Senior Anthony Morales played 18 minutes off the bench in his season debut after missing the first nine games to injury.
- After hitting six 3-pointers in the first half, the Seahawks went 1-of-8 in the second half to finish 7-of-26 (.269).
- BU improved to 3-1 all-time on the road against Wagner, as the squads faced off for the first time in 41 years.

- In the final contest before taking a break for final exams, the Terriers will visit Dartmouth on Wednesday (Dec. 13) at 7 p.m.
- The teams are meeting for the fifth time since 2018 with BU winning the last three contests, including a 67-59 home decision in 2022 and 65-62 road victory in 2021.
