WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (4-2, 1-0 PL) fell 7-0 to Boston College (7-1, 0-0 ACC) on Friday. In the loss, BU picked up a win in doubles and sent three singles matches to three sets.
Â
In doubles, BC quickly got the win at the No. 1 spot but grad student
Shelly Yaloz and sophomore
Michelle Kleynerman fought hard at No. 2. They topped their BC opponents 6-3 to have the doubles point be decided at the No. 3 spot. Ultimately, BC grabbed the final doubles match to lead 1-0 going into singles.
Â
BC went on to win on Court 1 in straight sets, but BU battled before the match would be decided. In the No. 4 spot, senior
Erica Di Battista lost after a close second set battle as BC took the win 6-2, 7-5. Kleynerman also fought hard in the No. 2 spot, going to a tiebreaker in both sets. She fell 7-6, 7-6 and BC secured its fourth point to win the match.
Â
All three of the remaining matches went to a third set. Freshman
