February 11, 2023

BOSTON – The Boston University women's track & field team wrapped up its home slate with the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday. In the meet, junior Juliana Nakouzi, sophomore Daisy Liljegren and freshmen Ellie Roan and Vera Sjöberg recorded top-10 program performances.

In the weight throw, Nakouzi set a new personal record with a throw of 16.00m (52' 6"). She moved up to the seventh-best throw in the event in BU history with the mark that helped her place 11th. Roan cracked into the top-10 performance list and is now ninth all-time with a throw of 15.48m (50' 9") to place 18th.

Liljegren competed in the 5000m which was highly contested. She ran in the second heat and crossed the finish line at 15:50.70 which is the second-fastest time in school history. This is her third individual appearance on the Top-10 Terrier list in her debut season with her other marks coming in the 1000m and the mile. Also competing were grad students Veronica Kriss (9:42.92) who placed 99th and Angela Castronuovo (10:26.62).

Sophomore Asia Hamilton competed in the high and long jumps. She took third in the high jump by clearing 1.71m (5' 7.25") and seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.70m (18' 8.5"). Junior Lisa Weyhenmeyer was the lone Terrier to compete in the triple jump. She made her season debut with a jump of 11.39m (37' 4.5").
