Men's Basketball to Host Bucknell Saturday Afternoon at The Roof

BOSTON – With just two home regular season games remaining, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Bucknell on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Both squads are trying to battle for a Patriot League first round bye or at least a home game in the opening tournament game, as just three contests separate seeds 5 and 10.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 7-4 at home following a 60-54 victory over American back on Feb. 8. The Terriers also defeated Loyola Maryland (66-53) and Lafayette (73-69 OT) at Case Gym.
  • Graduate student Walter Whyte is averaging a team-high 14.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg. On Wednesday at Holy Cross, he became the second Terrier in program history to reach 1,600+ points and 800+ rebounds with his fourth double-double of the season.
  • Classmate Jonas Harper leads BU with 49 3-pointers and 37 steals while averaging 10.3 ppg that increases to 11.1 in PL play.
  • Senior Nevin Zink is second in rebounding at 4.8 rpg with graduate student Fletcher Tynen close behind at 4.6 rpg.

  • Bucknell is 3-10 in true road games, having gone 2-2 over the last four contests with wins at American (78-71) and Army (68-66) alongside losses to Navy (71-65) and Loyola (80-66).
  • The Bison collected two wins in Daytona Beach, Florida, against Presbyterian (66-65) and Austin Peay (79-65) along with a 79-63 victory at NJIT while dropping a hard-fought 65-61 decision at Georgia.
  • 6-foot-3 guard Xander Rice leads Bucknell at 14.4 ppg and 3.7 apg, while 6-foot-10 center Alex Timmerman (6.8 rpg) and 7-foot-1 center Andre Screen (5.7 rpg) average 11.1 ppg.
