BOSTON – In the final road game of the regular season, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Army West Point on Wednesday night with tip-off slated for 6 p.m.

The contest carries importance for both teams, as they battle for a higher seed for next week's Patriot League tournament. The Terriers are currently in eighth, just one game behind three teams with the top six earning a first round bye. The Black Knights are fourth but have yet to clinch hosting rights for the PL quarterfinal round.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Head coach Joe Jones became the second in program history to lead the Terriers to 200+ wins following Saturday's 77-61 win over Bucknell that featured a season-low four turnovers. 
  • Graduate student Walter Whyte tallied a game-high 16 points against the Bison. He currently leads the Terriers at 14.7 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
  • Classmate Jonas Harper is second in scoring at 10.4 ppg, while fellow graduate student Fletcher Tynen (7.1 ppg) is second in rebounding at 4.7 rpg.
  • Overall, BU has had 11 players score in double figures with 10 doing it multiple times.
  • BU is 1-6 in its last seven road games, though the last one was decided at the buzzer at Holy Cross and the one before that went to overtime at Lafayette. The Terriers' last win came at Loyola Maryland back on Feb. 4, 68-67.
  • Coincidentally, the Terriers are 1-6 on Wednesdays after going 7-1 a year prior with the lone win coming against American back on Feb. 8.
SCOUTING ARMY
  • Coming off a 53-43 win vs. Lafayette, the Black Knights are 9-4 at home, winning their last three games. The three home PL losses were by a combined 10 points.
  • Jalen Rucker owns a team-high 15.6 ppg and 3.4 apg with Coleton Benson, Chriss Mann and Ethan Roberts all averaging between 10.0 and 12.5 ppg. 
  • Charlie Peterson is close behind in scoring (8.5 ppg) with a team-high 5.3 rpg.
  • Army ranks in top-100 in four NCAA categories, including 21st in FG% (.481), 56th in rebound margin (4.2 rpg) 91st in 3FG% (.358) ... 314th in turnover margin at -2.1.
  • The Black Knights are averaging 73.1 ppg with 48.1 FG% and are holding opponents to 69.8 ppg and 44.6 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 21-16, and is 10-10 in West Point compared to the 11-6 home mark.
  • In the last meeting at home, BU battled back from early 17-6 deficit to tie the game twice in the first half but never grabbed the lead. BU trailed 73-72 at 2:08 before the Black Knights finished on 10-2 run.
  • Army became first opponent since 2019 to shoot at least 60 percent from the field in a game. The Black Knights snapped the Terriers' 13-game win streak in games where BU shot 50+ FG%.
  • Rucker's 29 points are the most scored by an opponent this season.
  • BU fell in its last visit to Christl Arena, 73-63, in January 2022.
