CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston University track & field team competed at the Crimson Elite Meet at Harvard on Friday. Two top-10 performances were recorded in the 60m dash and a personal best in the long jump led to a first-place finish.
 
In the women's 60m dash prelims, freshman Jada Smith set a new personal best time of 7.57 to keep the third best time in program history. She advanced to the finals at the meet in which she placed fifth.
 
Another personal-best time was set in the men's 60m qualifying dash by sophomore Leon Christian. He ran a 6.85 to advance to the prelims in the event in which he placed 11th.
 
The women's long jump featured a personal best mark from sophomore Emma Lawrence. Her jump of 5.55m (18' 2.5") helped her place first in the event. Also competing was sophomore Asia Hamilton (11.46m (37' 7.25")) who placed 14th.
 
In the men's shot put, the Terriers all placed in the top-seven. Sophomore Gabe Hickman (16.18m (53' 1")) placed third, sophomore Cole Tucker (15.44m (50' 8")) came in fifth and junior Sam Dennerlein (15.23m (49' 11.75")) took seventh.
 
BU will be back in action Saturday (Feb. 4) for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite which begins at 11 a.m. There will be multiple special events with a senior day ceremony shortly before the meet at 10:45 a.m. and an alumni mile race around 4:20 p.m.
