The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 10th season on Saturday when the Terriers travel to Bucknell to face the Bison. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU pushed its win streak to three when the Terriers opened their home and Patriot League schedule with a 14-8 win over Colgate this past Saturday.
  • The Terriers went on a 6-0 run during the second half to turn a 6-5 deficit into an 11-6 lead.
  • Senior Vince D'Alto repeated as Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week thanks to a second straight five-goal performance.
  • He also added an assist to finish with a game-high six points and now leads BU with 22 points on 16 goals and six assists.
  • Senior Conor Calderone was named PL Faceoff Specialist of the Week after going 16-of-22 at the X with a game-high nine ground balls.
  • BU is 8-1 in its last nine road Patriot League games dating back to a 13-12 victory over Colgate in the final game of the shortened 2020 campaign.
  • The Terriers went 4-0 on the road last season, including April wins at Loyola Maryland and Lehigh.
  • BU is third in the nation with 12.25 caused turnovers per game, behind only High Point (12.57) and Saturday's opponent, Bucknell (14.0).

HISTORY WITH THE BISON

  • BU is 5-4 all-time against Bucknell and enters Saturday having won four straight meetings against the Bison, beginning with a thrilling 12-11 comeback win in the 2018 Patriot League Quarterfinals.
  • That improved the Terriers to 1-3 in Lewisburg.
  • The last three matchups have taken place at Nickerson Field, including last season's 12-7 win.

LAST TIME AGAINST BUCKNELL

  • BU earned a 12-7 win over then-unbeaten Bucknell on March 12, 2022, at Nickerson Field.
  • The Terriers never trailed, jumping out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter and holding Bucknell scoreless for a stretch of 25:45, including the entire third quarter, while seeing the team's lead build to 11-5 early in the fourth quarter.
  • BU got a game-high five points (2g, 3a) from Timmy Ley, who also recorded zero turnovers.
  • Jake Cates and  Vince D'Alto each tallied three goals apiece, with D'Alto adding an assist.
  • Louis Perfetto had three points (2g, 1a) while Matt Baugher and Jett Dziama each scored a goal.
  • Matt Garber made 12 saves for the Terriers.
  • Roy Meyer had five caused turnovers and added four ground balls while Patrick Morrison caused two turnovers, recorded three ground balls and also notched his first assist of the season.

SCOUTING THE BISON

  • Bucknell opened the season with a 20-6 win over Mercer but has since lost four straight games, including a 13-8 defeat at Harvard this past Saturday.
  • Junior Dutch Furlong leads Bucknell in goals (10), assists (12) and points (22) this season.
  • Freshman Michael Meyer has also scored 10 goals and is second on Bucknell with 15 points.
  • Senior Andrew Stanzel leads Bucknell with 13 caused turnovers and is second on the squad with 16 ground balls, behind only senor Danny Striano (23 ground balls).
  • Three Bison have taken at least 20 faceoffs, with senior Conor McCusker going 24-of-57 this season (.421).
  • McCusker has only taken eight faceoffs over the last two games, however, as junior Brendan Coyle (18-of-49) has taken 43 of his 49 total faceoffs over the last two games.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Jaz Zanelli has started all five games for Bucknell, posting a .424 save percentage and a 13.76 goals-against average.
