No. 20/19 Terriers Return Home Saturday to Face Holy Cross

The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 10th season on Saturday when the Terriers host Holy Cross at Nickerson Field. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU pushed its win streak to four when the Terriers earned a 14-12 road win at Bucknell on Saturday.
  • Senior Louis Perfetto paced the offense with one goal and a career-high seven assists to match his career best with eight points.
  • Senior Vince D'Alto (1g, 5a) and graduate student Timmy Ley (5g, 1a) recorded six points apiece against the Bison.
  • Senior Roy Meyer collected a career-best 10 ground balls in the win and now leads BU with 34 ground balls.
  • Freshman Rich Rindos shined at the faceoff X in his collegiate debut, going 7-of-15 and picking up two ground balls.
  • Sophomore Trey Brown led the Terriers with three caused turnovers.

HISTORY WITH HOLY CROSS

  • BU is 6-2 all-time against Holy Cross, including a current five-game win streak.
  • The Terriers are 2-1 against the Crusaders at Nickerson Field, most recently earning a 15-11 win in 2019.
  • BU has scored 16 goals in each of the last two victories over Holy Cross and has held the Crusaders to an average of 8.4 goals per game during this five-game win streak.

LAST TIME AGAINST HOLY CROSS

  • BU defeated Holy Cross, 16-10, last season during a foggy afternoon in Worcester.
  • Timmy Ley dished out four assists as part of a six-point afternoon.
  • Jake Cates (3g), Vince D'Alto (2g, 2a) and Louis Perfetto (2g, 1a) all had multiple points as well while Matt Baugher, Matt Hilburn and Roy Meyer all found the back of the net.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS

  • Holy Cross is 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the Patriot League, most recently dropping an 18-11 home decision to Lehigh last Saturday.
  • That was the Crusaders' first time reaching double digits in goals this season.
  • Senior Thomas McIntire scored six of his team-high 22 goals against the Mountain Hawks last weekend.
  • He also has two assists to lead Holy Cross with 24 points.
  • Senior Dean DiNanno recorded three of his six goals against Lehigh and has also notched a team-best six assists this season to place second in points behind McIntire.
  • Junior Connor DePiero is 38-of-90 (.422) at the faceoff X this season and is first on Holy Cross with 20 ground balls.
  • Freshman Julian Jenkins leads Holy Cross with six caused turnovers.
  • Junior goalkeeper Dawson Friers has started all seven games for the Crusaders this season, posting a .524 save percentage and a 15.37 goals-against average.
