BOSTON – Riding a 13-game win streak, the Boston University softball team will visit Bucknell for a three-game series with Friday's doubleheader set to begin at 12 p.m. 

The Terriers and Bison were scheduled to first face off Saturday but moved up the series a day in attempts to avoid inclement weather. Saturday's rubber match is currently set to begin at 12 p.m. as well but may be moved up earlier in the day.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 14-2 in true road games this season and is currently tied with Clemson for the longest active road win streak at 11 contests with the last loss coming against San Diego State (2-0) back on March 4. The Terriers' overall 13-game win streak is the third longest active streak behind Oklahoma (29) and Prairie View A&M (15).
  • Current owner of the BU single-season record at 81 hits, junior Kayla Roncin currently ranks third nationally at 64 hits with 16 regular season games remaining. She's batting a team-high .474 with 37 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
  • Classmate Lauren Keleher is second at .374 with a team-high 11 doubles, while senior and reigning PL Player of the Week Caitlin Coker is batting .341 with 32 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
  • In the circle, BU's staff has combined for 19 shutouts, second best mark nationally. Senior Allison Boaz (16-4, 1.52) has tallied 108 strikeouts in 115.0 innings, while reigning PL Rookie and Pitcher of the Week Kasey Ricard (13-2, 1.75 ERA) has totaled 132 strikeouts in 96.0 innings. Senior Lizzy Avery (4-1, 1.80 ERA) has joined the duo in earning double-digit starts this season as well.
  • Overall, BU is batting .317 while holding opponents to .198 with a 22-2 advantage in triples and 45-16 lead in doubles. The Terriers have more than quadrupled opponents in stolen bases as well, 47-10.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • The Bison are hosting their second series of the season after posting a 1-2 mark against Colgate with a pair of two-run losses and a 4-1 victory.
  • Bucknell already owns 10 wins after totaling just seven a year prior with key non-conference wins over East Carolina (2-0) and Maine (8-2). Team most recently went 1-2 at Army West Point with 6-4 win and two losses (3-2, 3-1).
  • Zoie Smith is batting a team-high .358 with 17 RBIs and seven stolen bases, while Elena Horn is hitting .303. Chase Knapp (.267) has two homers, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
  • In the circle, five pitchers have made at least two starts apiece. Madison Roukey (4-5, 2.35 ERA) has totaled 25 strikeouts in 50.2 innings, while Savannah Jones (1-6, 3.50 ERA) has claimed 25 strikeouts in 50.0 innings. Olivia Marinelli (3-5, 3.03 ERA) is holding opponents to a .225 average with 46 strikeouts in 37.0 innings.
  • Overall, Bucknell is batting .239 and is holding opponents to .278 with opponents owning 14-6 advantage in homers.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 19-7, having won the last seven meetings.
  • The Terriers won all three home contests last season by a combined score of 21-1.
  • In 2021 in the last visit to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, BU prevailed in all four contests by one run apiece with two 2-1 victories and a pair of 3-2 decisions.
UP NEXT
  • BU will return home and open a five-game homestand with a doubleheader against former America East rival Maine on Tuesday (April 18) starting at 1 p.m.
