The Boston University track & field teams competed at the UConn Northeast Challenge and the Providence Friar Invite this weekend. Junior Stuart Bladon highlighted the weekend with a school record in the decathlon at UConn while six additional top-10 marks were set.Â

The sprints, jumps and multis squads competed in Storrs, Conn. over the course of two days. The men's decathlon was contested over both days and Bladon continually found himself towards the top of the standings. First-place finishes in the long jump and 1,500m race helped propel him to a score of 7,081 points to set the school record in the event. Bladon topped the previous record by 212 points.

Junior
Juliana Nakouzi set two Top-10 Terrier marks at Uconn. In the shot put, she finished fourth with a mark of 14.26m (46' 9.5") to set the fourth-best performance in the event. Her second program milestone came in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.67m (149' 10") to improve to the ninth-best program mark in the event. Notably in the hammer throw, junior
Emma Kowalski led the Terriers with a 48.95m (160' 7") to place 17th in the event.

In the 4x100m relay, both the men's and women's teams set the sixth-best all-time marks. Junior Dakota Jackson, sophomore Leon Christian and freshmen Michael Onilogbo and Logan Popelka ran a 40.55 to place third. On the women's side, freshmen

Jada Smith finished in 46.52, good for eighth.

Popelka set another top-10 mark in the 200m dash. His second-place finish of 20.72 ranks third all-time in the event.Â

In the heptathlon, sophomore
Jamie Chamberlain also made an impact. Her score of 4,282 points marks the seventh-best score in BU history.

Providence Friar Invite
Â
Most of the distance crew competed at Providence on Friday. Highlighting the women's performances was freshman
Vera Sjöberg who placed second in the mile with a time of 4:42.18. Another top performance came from freshman
Olivia Dodds who led the Terriers in the 800m with a 2:13.11, good for 12th place.

Kaitlyn Desio made her debut with the Terriers in the 5,000m. She ran a 17:49.05 to place 15
th.

For the men, senior Andrew Trapp led BU in the 800m with a 1:52.53 to take sixth. Also competing was Cameron McLeod who crossed the finish line in 1:57.43.

Grad student Aksel Laudon led the Terriers in the mile on the men;s side. His time of 4:08.85 helped him place 16th overall. Another leader for BU was senior Robert Hannon in the 3,000m Steeplechase who placed sixth with a 9:33.30.

The Terriers are set to compete at three meets next weekend. BU will be spread out between the Michael Johnson Classic at Baylor (April 21-22), the Wake Forest Invitational (April 21) and the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT (April 22).
