BU Tops Lafayette, 4-0

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 1 seeded Boston University women's tennis team took down No. 8 seeded Lafayette with a 4-0 win in the Patriot League tournament quarterfinals on Friday morning. 
 
The Terriers (17-4) quickly secured the doubles point and won on three singles courts to complete the sweep over the Leopards.
 
In doubles, sophomore Michelle Kleynerman and grad student Shelly Yaloz blanked their opponents in the No. 2 spot, 6-0. They were quickly followed by junior Victoria Carlsten and freshman Emily Zhao who clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win at the bottom of the lineup.
 
BU moved into singles with the 1-0 lead and took the first set on all six courts. Junior Kaitlin Tan was first to wrap up and did not drop a single game to win 6-0, 6-0 at line four. Zhao backed that up with a victory of her own at the No. 6 spot in a 6-0, 6-1 decision. The Terriers sealed the deal thanks to Carlsten in the No. 3 spot as the junior won 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the 4-0 match victory.
 
BU will face the winner of the match between No. 4 seeded Bucknell and No. 5 seeded Colgate on Saturday (April 29) at 10 a.m.
