JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On the final day of the NCAA East Preliminary meet, freshman Vera Sjöberg and sophomore Daisy Liljegren competed in the 5,000m race Saturday evening.
 
Sjöberg ran in the second heat, posting a 16:06.69 to place 17th overall. Liljegren, who competed in the first heat, led for half of the race but eventually dropped back to finish with a 16:22.60 and place 27th. Neither advanced to the National Championships.
 
Liljegren's season will continue with the 10K at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The national meet will be held in Austin, Texas and will begin June 7.
