No. 2 Terriers Host No. 16 New Hampshire Saturday at Agganis

The No. 2 Boston University men's ice hockey team will conclude its three-game homestand on Saturday night when the Terriers host No. 16 New Hampshire at Agganis Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU returned to Hockey East play on Tuesday night with a 4-3 overtime win over Northeastern at Agganis.
  • Sophomore Jeremy Wilmer scored 1:18 in overtime off a feed from classmate Ryan Greene.
  • Wilmer also had the primary assist on graduate student Sam Stevens' first-period goal.
  • Stevens extended his point streak to four games with the goal, having notched two goals and three assists for five points in that span.
  • Wilmer is tied with freshman Macklin Celebrini for the team lead in assists (16) and is third on the squad with 19 points.
  • Celebrini scored a goal and an assist against the Huskies in his first game back after World Juniors.
  • Sophomore Lane Hutson tallied three points (1g, 2a) in his return to the Terrier lineup after claiming World Juniors gold.
  • He is tied for first among all NCAA defensemen with nine goals and is tied for third among NCAA defensemen (first in Hockey East) with 23 points.
  • Celebrini is second in the nation (first among rookies) with 1.69 points per game in addition to pacing all league skaters with 27 points (11g, 16a).
  • BU is 20-for-22 on the penalty kill since Nov. 22.

SERIES HISTORY

  • The Terriers and Wildcats have played 191 times since the 1924-25 season, and BU holds a decided advantage, 117-53-21 (.667).
  • That includes a 14-8-4 (.615) record at Agganis.
  • BU had a 12-game win streak and a 16-game unbeaten streak against the Wildcats snapped in October; the Terriers are now 14-1-2 in their last 17 contests against the Wildcats.
  • BU is 8-0-1 in its last nine home games against New Hampshire.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS

  • After beginning the season unranked, New Hampshire is 16th in both national polls thanks to an 11-5-1 record that includes a pair of top-five victories.
  • The Wildcats have won three straight games, including a weekend sweep of Princeton on Jan. 5-6 at Whittemore Center.
  • Freshman Ryan Conmy leads UNH in goals (10), assists (12), points (22) and plus-minus (+10).
  • Sophomore Cy LeClerc is second on the squad with 16 points on eight goals and eight assists.
  • Sophomore Tyler Muszelik, who made 20 saves in the Wildcats' 6-4 win over BU in October, is 4-3-0 in seven starts.
  • He has posted a 3.44 goals-against average and an .869 save percentage.
  • Junior Jakob Hellsten has made 10 starts, including all three games during the Wildcats' current win streak.
  • He is 7-2-1 with a 1.79 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.
