VERONA, Wisc. — Junior
Vera Sjöberg is set to represent the Boston University cross country team at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10:20 ET on ESPNU.
The Stockholm, Sweden native will be the first runner to race in the meet since Andrea Claeson ran for the Terriers in the shortened 2021 season. Sjöberg finished seventh at the NCAA Northeast Regionals with a 6K time of 19:55.91 to qualify as an individual.
The Patriot League individual champion, Sjöberg has run every 6K race under 20 minutes this season. She finished in 19:45.1 at the Patriot League Championships, more than 30 seconds ahead of the next competitor in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Sjöberg will look to be the first USTFCCCA Cross Country All-American since Andrea Walkonen in 2008, when she finished 21
st. Sjöberg will need to finish in the top 40 runners to earn All-America status.
