BOSTON – Utilizing a strong all-around effort, the Boston University men's basketball team claimed a 74-65 victory over Navy on Saturday afternoon at Case Gym.
The Terriers (11-16, 6-8 PL) improved on January's shooting performance of 33.9 percent by 13 points and also went 18-of-22 (.818) at the charity stripe to hand the Midshipmen defeat.

Kyrone Alexander netted a career-tying 19 points with seven rebounds, while sophomore
Otto Landrum posted 19 points as well. Earning a career-high four blocks, sophomore
Nico Nobili was the third Terrier in double figures at 11 points. BU won the battle at the boards, 35-31, and finished with a 38-26 advantage in points in the paint.
Austin Benigni tallied 19 points to lead Navy, while Lysander Rehnstrom and Mike Woods recorded 12 points apiece. The Midshipmen were held to 38.9 FG% in the second half after shooting 43.5 FG% during the first, as their six-game win streak in the series came to an end.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Navy only led for 36 seconds with a 3-2 advantage following Mitch Fischer's free throw at 17:35.
- Scoring the first bucket of the game, Landrum responded with three consecutive layups for the early 8-3 advantage.
- Lysander Rehnstrom briefly tied the game, 10-10 on a 3-pointer at 13:01, but freshman Michael McNair grabbed the lead for good with a jumper.
- Freshman Matai Baptiste gave BU its largest lead of the half, 32-23, at 2:17 on a pair of free throws and later fed Nobili for a layup to enter the locker room ahead, 36-28.
- Alexander extended the lead to 41-31 with 17:07 left on a layup plus bonus free throw, and senior Anthony Morales scored from behind the arc for the 46-35 advantage three minutes later.
- Navy chipped away and pulled within four, 48-44, on Austin Inge's 3-pointer at 11:49 but would never get any closer.
- Owning a 52-47 lead, Alexander drove to the hoop for a layup and followed Landrum's bucket with a 3-pointer to pull ahead, 59-47, with 8:04 left.
- The Terriers netted nine free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
GAME NOTES
- Alexander tied his personal best of 19 points set one week earlier at Bucknell.
- Landrum finished with 19+ points for the fourth time this season to help BU outscore Navy in the paint, 38-26.
- Nobili's four blocks were the most by a Terrier since Landrum recorded four at Holy Cross a year prior.
- BU snapped a six-game losing streak to Navy to improve to 13-11 all-time in the series.
