Men's Basketball to Wrap City of Boston Week by Hosting Loyola Maryland Sunday Afternoon

BOSTON – Seeking its third straight victory, the Boston University men's basketball team welcomes Loyola Maryland to Case Gym on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

With three games remaining, the Terriers are currently tied for fifth with Bucknell at 7-8, one game behind American and one game ahead of both Army West Point and Holy Cross.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • In Wednesday's 67-52 win at American, the senior duos of Miles Brewster and Anthony Morales combined for 33 points to complete their first sweep of the year.
  • One week prior, BU triumphed over Navy, 74-65, with sophomore Otto Landrum and freshman Kyrone Alexander tallying 19 points apiece, to improve to 6-6 at home.
  • Brewster currently leads BU at 10.4 ppg while shooting 41.6 percent from behind the arc with Morales in second at 9.3 ppg. Brewster also owns a team-high 3.1 apg and 1.5 spg.
  • Landrum (8.6 ppg) remains the team leader at 5.7 rpg, while classmate Nico Nobili (7.4 ppg) sits in second at 4.4 rpg after becoming the third Terrier to haul in double-digit boards this season with 11 total against the Eagles.
  • The Terriers are averaging 64.4 ppg and 40.7 FG% while holding opponents to 65.3 ppg and 42.6 FG%.
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYLAND
  • The Greyhounds are 5-12 on the road compared to their 1-10 home mark with 77-75 OT win at Brown and 79-64 victory at current No. 2 Lafayette.
  • Deon Perry owns a team-high 17.2 ppg while averaging 2.8 made 3-pointers per game. He also leads Loyola at 3.0 apg and 1.5 spg.
  • D'Angelo Stines is second on the team in scoring (9.6 ppg) and made 3-pointers per game (1.9) while boasting a team-high 12 blocks.
  • Golden Dike (8.0 ppg) leads the Greyhounds in rebounding at 6.8 rpg and is shooting 57.2 percent from the field in the post position.
  • Loyola is averaging 64.5 ppg and 42.2 FG% while holding opponents to 72.1 ppg and 46.2 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 18-7, having won nine of the last 10 meetings, including the last five.
  • Back on Jan. 13, Morales netted a career-high 24 points, including 17 over the last 8:23, to help BU overcome an 18-point deficit for the 60-58 victory.
  • Milos Ilic and Stines led Loyola with 13 points apiece.
  • Last year, BU earned a 66-53 home victory and completed the sweep with a 68-67 road victory in which the Greyhounds missed a pair of contested shots in the final seconds.
