TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU opened its 2024 campaign with a 14-10 win over Saint Joseph's on Tuesday in Westport, Connecticut.
  • Graduate student Louis Perfetto led BU with seven points (4g, 3a), including his 100th career assist.
  • He is just the second player in program history to record 100 assists, finishing the night with 101, and is now two assists away from setting a new program record.
  • Graduate student Vince D'Alto is also close to setting a new program record, as he needs just five points to pass the great Timmy Ley as the all-time leading point producer in program history; Ley finished his illustrious career with 215 points.
  • Perfetto is close to becoming the third player in program history to reach 200 career points, as he enters Saturday with 188 points.
  • Junior goalkeeper Will Barnes shined in his first collegiate start, stopping 18 shots, including 15 in the first half to help BU build an 8-4 halftime lead.
  • Barnes is one of four players since 2019 (and potentially further back) to record 18 or more saves in his first collegiate start.
  • Junior transfer Matthew Fritz went 10-for-15 at the faceoff X and gathered five ground balls in his Terrier debut.
  • BU forced 10 turnovers on Tuesday, with senior Dane DeGoler and graduate student Patrick Morrison leading the Terriers with three caused turnovers apiece.
  • The Terriers are 13-3 at Nickerson Field over the past two seasons, including a 5-0 mark during the 2023 regular season.

HISTORY AGAINST VERMONT

  • The Terriers are 2-2 all-time against Vermont.
  • BU dropped a 13-9 decision to the Catamounts at Nickerson during its inaugural season in 2014 and also fell at Vermont last year by a score of 14-12.
  • The Terriers earned a 15-7 road win in 2015 and a 12-4 home triumph in 2019.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS

  • Vermont, the defending America East regular-season champion, opened its 2024 campaign with a 20-7 loss at No. 12 Syracuse on Saturday.
  • Graduate student Brock Haley and sophomore Tristan Whitaker had two goals apiece.
  • Haley totaled eight points (3g, 5a) in last year's win over BU and finished 2023 as the team leader in goals (31) and points (52), both of which were career highs.
  • Five different Catamounts recorded a caused turnover last weekend while senior Patrick Murphy and freshman Mason Bardwell led UVM with three ground balls apiece.
  • Sophomore Henry Dodge went 9-for-23 (.391) at the faceoff X against Syracuse.
  • Senior George Egan made nine saves against the Orange this past weekend.
