BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Peace Omonzane of the Boston University women's track & field team was named the Patriot League field athlete of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Omonzane opened her outdoor season at the Hurricane Invitational in the horizontal jumps. Her triple jump of 12.74m (41' 9.75") leads the Patriot League and ties the third-best mark in BU history. She also jumped 5.92m (19' 5.25") in the long jump to set the league-leading mark. She ranks seventh in the NCAA in the triple jump and 31st in the NCAA in the long jump.
 
This is the Brampton, Ont., native's first outdoor league award. She collected two weekly awards in the indoor season and was also named the Field Athlete of the Meet at the indoor championships.
 
The Terriers will continue the outdoor season at the UMass Lowell Invitational on Saturday. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
