BOSTON - The Boston University women's lacrosse team (5-10, 1-7 PL) fell to American (7-8, 3-5 PL) in overtime, 12-11, on senior day.

After a close first quarter, BU put itself on top 6-5 at the half. The Terriers continued to lead until late in the third quarter when American came back to tie things up 9-9. The Eagles went ahead 10-9 before junior Hannah Tillier took back the lead with two goals of her own in the final frame. American did not give up its fight, however, and scored with 26 seconds left to force the game into overtime. After winning the draw and running down the shot clock, American scored on a free position opportunity to defeat BU 12-11.

Tillier, freshman Alex Cutone and juniors Abby Cotraro and Raegan Bailey all scored twice in the loss. Freshman Tessa Geddes found the back of the net once while senior Tobey Tick and junior Avery Jones each had one goal and one assist. Cutone also had two assists to lead BU in points with four. Sophomore Haley Matusz led BU's defensive efforts with a career best four ground balls and a caused turnover while freshman goalkeeper Natalie Aiosa made five saves.
