HAMILTON, N.Y. - Trailing No. 20 Colgate, 10-2, in the second quarter, the Boston University men's lacrosse team stormed back to defeat the Raiders, 13-12, on Friday night at Crown Field.

Jake Cates beat the 10-man ride from midfield to tie the game at 12-12 with 6:06 to go, junior
Zach Travaglini completed the comeback on a fantastic individual effort with 2:23 remaining in regulation. BU won the next faceoff and controlled possession until the shot clock expired. Colgate cleared and had a chance to equalize, but sophomore
Connor Kehm intercepted a pass in the final seconds to seal the victory.

Louis Perfetto proved why he should be the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year with an incredible effort on Friday. He factored on six straight goals that began a 7-0 run by the Terriers to get them within one in the third quarter, assisting on three consecutive goals by junior
Brenden Kelly before scoring the next three himself. Perfetto ended the day with eight points on three goals and five assists to become the only Patriot League player to enter the postseason with 70+ points. Perfetto finished the year with a career-high 77 points on 39 goals and 38 assists.
Cates joined Perfetto and Kelly with a hat trick and also added an assist to complete a four-point day. Graduate student
Vince D'Alto finished the night with five points (2g, 3a) while senior
Tommy Bourque also notched a goal. Kehm assisted on Cates' midfield strike and also gathered four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Freshman
Logan Styles was terrific in an expanded role, recording two caused turnovers and adding a ground ball.

Matthew Fritz went 10-for-13 at the faceoff X in the second half and finished the game with seven ground balls. Junior
Will Barnes made six of his 13 saves in the second half to help clinch the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colgate scored twice in the first 1:02 of the game to take a 2-0 lead.
- Cates responded off a feed from D'Alto at 12:57 to get BU on the board, but Colgate responded with two more goals to take a 4-1 lead.
- Perfetto connected with D'Alto on a man-up chance with 4:18 to go in the opening quarter, creating a 4-2 score.
- The Raiders then went on a 6-0 run to push their advantage to 10-2 with 11:06 left in the second stanza.
- Perfetto assisted on a pair of Kelly goals to create a 10-4 halftime score.
- The Terriers dominated the third quarter thanks to an incredible performance by Perfetto. He factored on the first four goals of the quarter, including three straight goals, to help BU get within one at 10-9.
- Colgate finally snapped the Terriers' 7-0 run with a goal during an unsettled situation to send the Raiders to the fourth quarter with an 11-9 edge.
- The Raiders scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, but BU tallied the final four goals of the contest, beginning when Perfetto found D'Alto at the left post for a goal to get BU back within two.
- A turning jumpshot from Bourque with 8:18 to play made it 12-11.
- Kehm then found Cates at midfield during a clear attempt, and Cates ripped a shot from downtown to beat the 10-man ride.
- Travaglini then scored the game-winner with 2:23 after an outstanding individual effort. He caught the ball below GLE, dodged his defender and scored off balance to give BU its first lead of the game.
- Fritz won the ensuing faceoff and BU killed the entire possession clock, leaving Colgate with less than a minute to play.
- Colgate had time to set up a play, but Kehm's quick stick picked off a pass and the Terriers ran out the clock for the win.
GAME NOTES
- Perfetto's 77 points is the second-highest single-season total by a Terrier in program history.
- He was the only Patriot League player with 30 assists and was one of just two players, along with D'Alto, to record over 60Â points.
- D'Alto finished the year second in the Patriot League in points (64) and assists (27).
- BU held Colgate scoreless for a stretch of 24:29 across the second and third quarters.
- This was the Terriers' third straight win over Colgate.
- BUÂ assisted on 11 of its 13 goals.
- The Terriers were 3-of-6 on man-up chances.
- BU's last three games have all been one-goal contests.
