BOSTON - Graduate students
Roy Meyer,
Patrick Morrison and
Louis Perfetto of the Boston University men's lacrosse team were named All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), the organization announced on Thursday.
This is the third straight year that Meyer has been chosen as an All-American by the USILA while Morrison and Perfetto are receiving this honor for the first time. All three standouts were honorable mention selections, with Meyer and Perfetto also earning that distinction from Inside Lacrosse earlier this month. Ten different Terriers have now earned 25 different All-America accolades between Inside Lacrosse and the USILA.
Meyer, who became the program's first-ever three-time All-American, established himself as the best LSM in program history and one of the best in Patriot League history after another outstanding season in 2024. The two-time First Team All-American led BU with 30 caused turnovers and paced all Terrier defenders with 73 ground balls. He played some of his best lacrosse in the final month of the season, totaling 36 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers in the final seven games. He tallied two goals and one assist in addition to 16 ground balls and eight caused turnovers en route to being named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team. Meyer ended his storied career as the program's leader in caused turnovers (146), which ranks fourth in NCAA history, and is also second in program history (first among defenders) with 256 ground balls.
Morrison once again proved himself to be one of the top close defenders in the region during the 2024 campaign. A First Team All-Patriot League honoree, Morrison finished second on BU with 24 caused turnovers and also collected 33 ground balls in addition to securing two assists. Typically tasked with guarding the opponent's top attacker, Morrison helped the Terriers finish fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.53) and third in the NCAA in opponent clearing percentage (.776). Morrison was a two-time PL Defensive Player of the Week who recorded a season-high four ground balls on three occasions and collected a career-high six caused turnovers at Brown on Feb. 20. He is one of just two three-time First Team All-New England honorees in program history as well as one of just three Terriers to earn First Team All-Patriot League accolades three times.
Perfetto enjoyed the finest season of his legendary BU career in 2024. A First Team All-Patriot League honoree, Perfetto entered the NCAA Tournament ranked third in the country with 5.47 points per game. He set new career highs in goals (45), assists (48) and points (93), leading the Patriot League in all three categories. Perfetto put the Terriers on his back as they fought for another conference title, totaling 24 points (9g, 15a) in the final four games, including 17 points in the regular-season finale and conference quarterfinal victory. Perfetto was one of only two players in NCAA to enter the tournament with 40+ goals and 40+ assists and only the second player in program history to record over 80 points in a single season. Perfetto finished his career as BU's all-time leader in assists (144) and is second all-time at BU in goals (127) and points (271).
