Men's Basketball to Wrap Military Road Trip at Navy Wednesday Night

BOSTON – Concluding a two-game road trip, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Navy on Wednesday night with tip-off set for 7 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • In Patriot League play, BU is 3-0 at home so far and 0-3 on the road following Saturday's 68-62 loss at Army that was preceded by a 71-63 home win over the Black Knights.
  • The Terriers' top two scorers are both sophomores with Kyrone Alexander averaging a team-high 12.7 ppg and Michael McNair close behind at 10.8 ppg. The numbers switch in conference play with McNair averaging 12.7 ppg and Alexander in second at 11.7 ppg.
  • Senior Malcolm Chimezie and graduate student Miles Brewster have combined for 17.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg. Brewster has added a team-high 25 steals and 37 assists, while Chimezie leads BU with 14 blocks.
  • In conference play, the Terriers have averaged a higher shooting percentage, 43.1 - 42.9 FG%, but are only shooting 59.1 percent at the free throw line with opponents sitting at 72.2 FT%. BU also has a negative turnover margin of 4.5 to make more games challenging.
  • On the season, the Terriers are shooting 65.9 ppg and 44.2 FG% while holding opponents to 67.5 ppg and 43.5 FG%.
SCOUTING NAVY
  • The Midshipmen are 4-4 at home compared to their 1-8 road mark. Following a 73-66 loss to Colgate, they are currently 2-1 at Alumni Hall against Patriot League opponents with 81-58 win over American and 71-70 victory against Lafyette.
  • The Midshipmen also owns an 85-80 home win against Harvard with close losses at Virginia Tech (80-72) and William & Mary (82-76).
  • Austin Benigni leads Navy at 17.3 ppg and 4.4 apg while shooting 41.5 3FG%.
  • Aidan Kehoe is just shy of averaging a double-double at 10.8 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Donovan Draper is close behind at 8.7 ppg and 7.9 rpg.
  • As a team, Navy is averaging 71.4 ppg and 42.3 FG% while holding opponents to 72.6 ppg and 44.9 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 14-11, after winning both home games last season, including a 70-61 decision in the Patriot League quarterfinals.
  • Brewster tallied 10 points and four assists, while Alexander posted nine points and eight rebounds alongside two assists and two blocks in the third meeting.
  • Benigni averaged 21.0 ppg and 41.3 FG% in the three games for the Midshipmen.
