Men's Basketball to Host Holy Cross in Turnpike Trophy Clash Monday Night on CBS Sports Network

BOSTON – Riding a six-game home win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Holy Cross Monday night as part of a Turnpike Trophy doubleheader. CBS Sports Network will show both games with the women tipping off at 4 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m.

The Terriers are coming off a thrilling 85-82 come-from-behind overtime win over Bucknell at The Roof, while the Crusaders are looking to carry momentum from a 70-65 victory at Loyola Maryland.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU's six-game home win streak is the program's longest since the Terriers won six straight during the 2019-20 season. In 2010-11, BU won nine straight, including the America East tournament title, to end the season.
  • Thanks to the win over Bucknell, the Terriers have six victories this season when trailing with five minutes left to go. BU is 4-1 when holding the lead.
  • Sophomore Kyrone Alexander leads BU at 12.6 ppg after tallying a team-high 16 points vs. the Bison. Classmate Michael McNair is second at 10.4 ppg with the help of 51 3-pointers.
  • Senior Malcolm Chimezie (7.7 ppg) leads BU at 5.2 rpg and is the only Terrier so far to haul in 10+ rebounds in a game this year. Junior Otto Landrum came close with nine boards against Bucknell while becoming the 11th Terrier to score 10+ points at 11 total.
  • The Terriers are averaging 66.0 ppg and 43.7 FG% while holding opponents to 68.0 ppg and 44.1 FG%.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
  • The Crusaders are 6-7 away from the Hart Center with notable wins against Sacred Heart (82-75) Brown (73-65), Quinnipiac (70-69) and Siena (78-70).
  • In PL play, HC owns a sweep over Loyola Maryland along with a 70-59 home win vs. Navy.
  • Three Crusaders are averaging double figures in points with Max Green leading the way at 14.7 ppg and 3.8 apg. Joe Nugent is second at 12.8 ppg while tying Green at 5.4 rpg.
  • Caleb Kenney is averaging 11.1 ppg and has combined with Jaiden Feroah for 36 blocks. Feroah leads HC in rebounding at 6.0 rpg.
  • HC is averaging 69.8 ppg and 45.9 FG% with 39.3 3FG%, while holding opponents to 71.1 ppg, 45.5 FG% and 33.1 3FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Crusaders lead the all-time series, 61-28, in a rivalry that dates back to 1902-03.
  • They have yet to meet in a Patriot League tournament game after BU won the 1983 ECAC North title vs. HC with Northeastern's Matthews Arena serving as host.
  • Last year, BU shot 50.9 FG% and held HC to 50.8 FG% for a 94-84 home win.
