PRINCETON, N.J. — The Boston University cross country team wrapped up its regular season slate with the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday morning at Meadows Cross Country Course.
The men's team ran to an eighth-place finish out of 31 teams with all five runners finishing in the top 70. Junior Freddy Collins led the way for BU, taking 36th with a time of 23:54.7. Following Collins was senior Parker Schneider, who crossed the line in 23:57.2 and earned 39th place. Sophomore James American Horse finished 55th with a time of 24:07.4. The top five was rounded out by senior Tucker Bowerfind, who took 60th with a 24:10.2 mark, and sophomore Dan Hruska, who took 73rd with a time of 24:15.0.
In a meet that featured 11 NCAA Northeast Region opponents, the Terriers finished third amongst them and finished above Providence, who is ranked seventh in the region. The Terriers also trailed Yale by 14 points and the current No. 1 team in the Northeast, Syracuse, by just 19 points.
On the women's side, the Terriers took 10th out of 25 programs. Junior
Abby Waddington led the squad with a 37th-place finish, posting a 20:56.0 time. Junior
Adrienne Buettner-Cable finished 48th, crossing the line in 21:01.8. Next to finish was senior
Samantha Seabury, who clocked a 21:15.4 time in 65th place. Then sophomore
Caroline Collins finished 100th, posting a time of 21:38.5, and the top five was rounded out by junior
Merem Gabriel-Rodriguez, who finished 106th in 21:40.1.
The Terriers finished fourth of eight NCAA Northeast Region teams and topped the only other Patriot League school racing in Lehigh.
Next up, the teams will head to the Patriot League Championships at Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, taking place on Oct. 31.
