TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU dropped both games of a weekend series against then-No. 3/4 Michigan State, falling 4-2 on Friday night and 4-3 (ot) on Saturday.
- In Friday's game, the Spartans took an early 3-1 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 4-2 victory.
- Sophomore Sascha Boumedienne scored his first goal of the season on the power play, ripping a wrister from the point that had eyes for the net.
- Freshman Ryder Ritchie benefited from a 6-on-4 opportunity, scoring his second goal of the year in the third period.
- Saturday's game was a tightly-contested affair, with the Terriers scoring three third-period goals to tie the game at 3-3 before the Spartans lit the lamp in overtime.
- The first Terrier tally came from the stick of junior captain Gavin McCarthy, who was set up on a one-timer by freshman Ben Merrill and sophomore Brandon Svoboda to make it a 2-1 game.
- After the Spartans extended their lead to 3-1, sophomore Kamil Bednarik made a heroic play on the penalty kill, turning the Spartans over at the blue line and breaking away for a solo goal that cut the lead to 3-2.
- Agganis really started rocking once the Terriers tied it at 15:02, as freshman Conrad Fondrk scored his first career goal off a tip from Boumedienne.
- In overtime, sophomore Cole Eiserman came inches away from scoring the game-winning goal, but a clearance off the goal line by Michigan State set up the winner at the other end.
- At least three newcomers have recorded a point through five games this season.
- Eight newcomers have recorded points so far.
- Eiserman has five goals and seven points in his first five games this season – his goals total is tied for the Hockey East lead and he's tied for second in the conference in points.
