Terriers Fall at Boston College, 5-2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (2-9-0, 2-4-0 HE) dropped a 5-2 decision to Boston College (6-6-1, 5-2-1 HE) on Thursday evening at Conte Forum.
BU opened the scoring with a goal nearly midway through the first frame before BC responded with two goals of its own to take a 2-1 lead before the end of the opening stanza. The Eagles were assessed a major penalty for contact to the head in the second frame, giving the Terriers a five-minute power play. BU scored during the advantage to tie the game 2-2 headed into the third.
The Eagles found the back of the net just over a minute into the third and, after a challenge for offsides, the goal was confirmed. BC added two more goals through the final minutes as BU fell, 5-2.
Sophomores Kaileigh Quigg and Lola Reid scored for the Terriers, with Reid's being her first of the season. Seniors Clara Yuhn and Reily Walsh, junior Greta Henderson and freshman Lucy Theissen all registered assists. Graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk made 18 saves between the posts.

- BC was called for boarding eight seconds into the game.
- BU stayed in BC's zone through the entire power play but did not score.
- The Terriers went to the box for hooking at 13:24 and successfully killed the penalty.
- Moments after the penalty expired, Yuhn's shot from the point was saved and the rebound was collected by Thiessen.
- Thiessen then fired a shot from the point that rebounded to Quigg at the top of the crease, who tapped the puck past BC's netminder to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead 9:03 into the game.
- The Eagles were called for tripping with 5:00 to play in the first.
- Twelve seconds after the end of the penalty, BC found the back of the net to even the score, 1-1.
- BC then took a 2-1 lead with 53.8 on the clock.
- At 17:03 in the second, BU went to the box for cross checking.
- BC then went to the box for interference with 39 seconds left on its power play.
- Both penalties cleared without a change in score.
- After a stoppage in play, BU successfully challenged for a contact to the head and BC was served a major penalty for the call at 11:37.
