Terriers, Raiders to Clash Saturday Afternoon at The Roof

BOSTON – Riding an eight-game home win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will host defending Patriot League champion Colgate on Saturday with the start time set for 1 p.m.

With only five games remaining, BU currently finds itself tied for fifth in the PL standings alongside Navy and one game ahead of both Loyola Maryland and Lafayette. The Raiders are tied for third with Bucknell, only two contests behind No. 1 American.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Following an 87-65 victory over Navy back on Feb. 5, BU's current home win streak is the program's longest since the Terriers won nine straight to end the 2010-11 season.
  • BU has had three Terriers average double-digit points in Case Gym with sophomore Kyrone Alexander leading the way at 17.0 ppg.
  • Classmate Michael McNair is second at 13.5 ppg shooting 51.5 percent from behind the arc, and graduate student Miles Brewster is close behind at 11.3 ppg.
  • On the defensive front, BU is out-rebounding opponents at The Roof by 10 boards a game thanks to three Terriers hauling in more than five rebounds a game. Junior Nico Nobili owns a team-high 5.6 rpg, just ahead of senior Malcolm Chimezie (5.4 rpg) and Alexander (5.1 rpg).
  • Overall on the season, BU is averaging 66.2 ppg and 43.6 FG% while holding opponents to 68.0 ppg and 44.8 FG%.
SCOUTING COLGATE
  • The Raiders are 4-12 on the road compared to their 7-3 home mark with wins over Holy Cross (87-65), Lafayette (90-67), Navy (73-66) and UNC Wilmington (72-59). At home, Colgate earned a notable 65-60 non-conference victory over Vermont and most recently defeated Loyola Maryland last Saturday, 82-68.
  • Colgate is currently 1-2 in Massachusetts with the 22-point win at Holy Cross and losses to both Northeastern (78-75) and Harvard (78-67).
  • Three Raiders are averaging double figures with Jeff Woodward leading the way at 14.7 ppg and 7.5 rpg while shooting 66.1 FG%.
  • Nicolas Louis-Jacques is averaging 11.8 ppg with Jalen Cox (11.0 ppg) and Brady Cummins (9.0 ppg) next in line.
  • As a team, Colgate is averaging 71.5 ppg and 46.2 FG% while holding opponents to 71.9 ppg and 45.5 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Raiders own a 35-30 all-time lead in the series, having won the last six meetings since BU posted a 76-72 victory in 2022.
  • In the first meeting back in January in New york, Colgate hit its first seven 3-pointers and ran away in the second half for an 87-50 decision.
  • Last year, Colgate posted a 75-59 home win and then a 74-64 victory at Case Gym.
LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Terriers will wrap the homestand by hosting Loyola Maryland on Wednesday (Feb. 19) with a 7 p.m. tip.
  • The Greyhounds won the first meeting at home, 69-67, back on Feb. 1.
