BOSTON – Embarking on the final road trip of the regular season, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Patriot League standings leader, American, on Saturday with a 4 p.m. start time.

The Terriers most recently earned thrilling victories over defending PL champion Colgate (93-91 OT) and Loyola Maryland (68-66) with sophomore Kyrone Alexander scoring what proved to be a game-winning jumper on BU's final possession in each contest.. 

TERRIER TIDBITS

• BU used its eighth different lineup of the season in Wednesday's win over Loyola Maryland with No. 2 scorer Michael McNair (10.7 ppg) out due to injury.
• Graduate student Miles Brewster (10.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.1 apg) and senior Malcolm Chimezie (7.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) are now the only two Terriers to have started every game. The two freshmen, Amzar Abdullah (6.8 ppg) and Ben Defty (4.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg) are the other two to have appeared in every contest.
• With his second consecutive 20+ point performance on Wednesday, Alexander increased his scoring average to a team-high 12.7 ppg while also averaging 5.0 rpg.
• The Terriers will try to snap a seven-game losing streak after they claimed 59-56 win at Maine and 75-71 victory at UMBC in non-conference play.
• BU is averaging 75.9 ppg and 47.7 FG% at home but only 57.7 ppg and 39.5 FG% while on the road.
• Overall, the Terriers are averaging 67.2 ppg and 43.8 FG% while holding opponents to 68.8 ppg and 45.0 FG%. 

SCOUTING AMERICAN

• AU is 2-0 so far against Massachusetts based programs with home wins over Harvard (67-55) and Holy Cross (75-64).
• The Eagles are 10-1 at Bender Arena compared to their 4-10 road mark with an 81-71 OT win over George Washington and most recently a 72-51 victory against Loyola Maryland.
• 6-foot-9 forward Matt Rogers leads the Eagles at 17.3 ppg with 5.8 rpg, while 5-foot-9 guard Elijah Stephens averages 11.1 ppg alongside 3.8 apg. 6-foot-2 guard Colin Smalls owns 10.4 ppg, just ahead of 6-foot-6 forward Greg Jones' 10.1 ppg.
• As a team, AU is averaging 69.4 ppg and 44.3 FG% while holding opponents to 69.0 ppg and 46.0 FG%.

SERIES HISTORY

• BU owns a 16-9 all-time record against American with a 6-5 road mark.
• The Terriers are riding a four-game win streak after posting a 60-54 home win back on Jan. 8.
• In the contest, McNair led BU with 20 points, while Rogers had a game-high 22 points with six rebounds for the Eagles.
• After the teams entered the locker room tied, 30-30, BU shot 44.0 percent during the final 20 minutes and held AU to 29.6 percent.
• Last season, BU earned the sweep with a 72-68 home win and 67-52 road victory

LOOKING AHEAD

• BU will visit Lehigh in the final road game of the regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 26) at 6 p.m.
• The Terriers won the first meeting, 63-58, back on Jan. 15 with Alexander earning a team-high 18 points.
