AMESBURY, Mass. - For the third straight year, four members of the Boston University men's ice hockey team were selected as Hockey East All-Stars, the league announced on Friday.

Freshman Cole Hutson was named a First Team All-Star, junior Quinn Hutson and sophomore Tom Willander were chosen as Second Team All-Stars and junior Ryan Greene was picked as a Third Team All-Star. This is Willander's second straight selection as a Second Team All-Star while the Hutsons and Greene received all-star accolades for the first time. The men's ice hockey program has now placed 98 Terriers on Hockey East All-Star teams and has had a freshman earn first-team honors in each of the last three years.

C. Hutson, who was unanimously named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team on Wednesday, has established himself as one of the best rookies and best defensemen, regardless of class, in the country. He leads all NCAA rookies in points (39) and assists (27), and he also paces all NCAA defensemen in points per game (1.18). Hutson joined his brother Lane as the only defensemen since 2005-06 to record at least 10 goals and 25 assists in their first 33 career games. The reigning National Rookie of the Month, Hutson enters the postseason on a six-game point streak, including two straight games with one goal and two assists.

Q. Hutson is enjoying the best season of his BU tenure, having set new career highs in goals (20), assists (26), points (46) and plus-minus (+22). He the national leader in points per game (1.44) and is one of just five skaters to have notched 20+ goals and 25+ assists this season, doing so in the fewest amount of games (32) than the other four men to accomplish that feat. Hutson is the 50th Terrier to score 50 goals and record 50 assists at BU, becoming the first Terrier to reach 50 goals since Bobo Carpenter (2015-19) and the first Terrier to join the 100-point club since Patrick Harper (2016-20). In 111 career games, Hutson has scored 53 goals and added 57 assists for 110 points.

Willander is perhaps the best two-way defenseman in all of college hockey. He has totaled 21 points on two goals and 19 assists as a sophomore and enters the weekend as a plus-16. He is one of just seven defensemen in the NCAA and the only Hockey East blue liner to have at least 21 points and be a plus-16 or better this season. In addition, he has blocked 47 shots, which is tied for second among those seven aforementioned defensemen. Willander enters the postseason having notched a point in three of the last four games to help the Terriers end the season with a 3-0-1 record in that span. In 71 career games, Willander has notched six goals and 40 assists for 46 points and is a plus-44.

Greene has been a terrific leader for the Terriers on and off the ice. A Hobey Baker Award nominee along with the Hutson brothers, Greene is third on the team in points with 32 thanks to 19 assists and a career-best 13 goals. That includes one goal and four assists for five points during his current three-game point streak. Greene is the fifth Terrier since 2005-06 to have notched 30+ points in three different seasons at BU, joining Chris Connolly, Chris Higgins, Pete MacArthur and Danny O'Regan. He needs one more point to join the 100-point club, having notched 34 goals and 65 assists for 99 points in 112 games.

BU will open the Hockey East Men's Tournament on Saturday when the third-seeded Terriers host sixth-seeded UMass at Agganis Arena. Puck drop on NESN+ and ESPN+ is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
