Softball to Visit Providence for Wednesday Afternoon Tilt

BOSTON – Riding a 10-game win streak, the Boston University softball team will visit Providence Wednesday afternoon with a 3 p.m. start time.

The Terriers most recently earned a sweep at home against Colgate in Patriot League play, while the Friars went 0-3 at St. John's in a Big East series over the weekend.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 9-6 in true road games with series sweep at Bucknell that included a 15-inning marathon win (14-7) and a doubleheader sweep at Merrimack (8-0, 7-0).
  • Nine Terriers have earned at least one triple with junior Brooke Deppiesse leading BU at six while hitting a team-high .434 alongside 36 runs scored and 27 RBIs.

  • Freshmen Danika Nell (4-1, 3.44 ERA) and Ava Johnson (3-1, 2.86 ERA) have earned two shutouts apiece.
  • The Terriers are batting .305 and holding opponents to .227 with a 20-12 advantage in homers and 20-4 lead in triples.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
  • The Friars are 6-5 at home with 7-4 win over Boston College alongside DH splits against both Yale (4-8, 7-3) and Rhode Island (10-1, 4-5).
  • Providence has four batters hitting above .300 with Cameron Dunn leading the way at .395 with five doubles, seven homers, 18 runs and 28 RBIs.
  • Both Elisa Smith (.370) and Emma Eichten (.344) earned five doubles apiece alongside Dunn with Smith also recording five triples.
