
Hutson, Eiserman, Yegorov Earn Hockey East Monthly Awards

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshmen Cole Eiserman, Cole Hutson and Mikhail Yegorov of the Boston University men's ice hockey team each earned a monthly award from Hockey East, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Hutson was selected as Hockey East Player of the Month, Eiserman was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month and Yegorov took home Hockey East Goaltender of the Month accolades. All three rookies were instrumental in helping BU reach the national title game for the first time since 2015.
No player in the NCAA had more points than Hutson during March and April, as he totaled four goals and 11 assists for 15 points. His play propelled BU into the national title game after six points (2g, 4a) in the NCAA Toledo Regional where he was named Most Outstanding Player. He also had an assist in each Frozen Four game to end the year on a five-game point streak. and . A First Team All-American and the National Rookie of the Year, Hutson matched his brother Lane for the most points by a freshman defenseman in Hockey East history with 48, finishing the season with 14 goals and 34 assists.
Eiserman led the NCAA with nine goals in just eight games in March and April, including two game-winning strikes and a tally in each Frozen Four game for the Terriers. He started the month with his second career hat trick, becoming one of just five freshmen since 2005-06 to record two hat tricks in one season, and ended the year with four goals in his final four games. His 12 points were third in the nation and no freshman had more game-winning strikes than Eiserman. For the season, Eiserman led all NCAA rookies with 25 goals, becoming the 10th NCAA rookie (and third Terrier rookie) since 2005-06 to score 25 goals in a season.
Yegorov backstopped the Terriers to their third straight Frozen Four by winning six games in March and April. He faced 253 shots against, the third-most in the country, and stopped 234 of them, second of any goaltender in the nation. The rookie netminder allowed two or fewer goals in five of his eight starts and made at least 30 saves in five as well, including 37 stops in a 3-2 overtime win over Cornell in the NCAA Toledo Regional final. In 18 starts since joining the Terriers in late January, Yegorov went 11-6-1 with a .927 save percentage and one shutout.
