No. 20 Men's Lacrosse to Host Lehigh Saturday on CBS Sports Network

The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 12th season on Saturday when the No. 20 Terriers host Lehigh at Nickerson Field. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU has already clinched a playoff spot and can clinch a top-four seed this weekend with a win and losses by both Navy and Colgate.
  • Senior Jimmy O'Connell matched his career high with four goals but the Terriers were edged by Lafayette, 11-9, this past Saturday.
  • O'Connell has notched 16 points (10g, 6a) over the last three games
  • Freshman Timothy Shannehan, who remained at No. 3 in Inside Lacrosse's late-season freshman impact rankings, leads BU with 50 points on 25 goals and 25 assists.
  • He is the first rookie to 50 points this season and he matched Chris Gray (2018) and Vince D'Alto (2020-21) as the fastest Terriers to reach that mark, doing so in 12 games.
  • BU is one of just two schools to boast three attackmen with at least 25 goals - Shannehan (25), O'Connell (27) and junior Jimmy Kohr (33).
  • Junior Connor Kehm is seventh in the NCAA with 25 total caused turnovers, having recorded at least one caused turnover in 11 of his 12 starts this season. 
  • He is also first on BU with 42 ground balls.
  • Senior Will Barnes enters the weekend ranked ninth in the country with a .583 save percentage and 11th in the nation with an 8.63 goals-against average.
  • Freshman Madden Murphy matched his career highs in both faceoff wins (13) and ground balls (5) this past Saturday at Lafayette.
  • He enters the weekend ranked second in the conference with a win percentage of .560, behind only Lehigh's Sean Dow.
  • BU continues to be one of the top riding teams in the nation, ranking fifth in the NCAA and third in the PL in opponent clear percentage (.747).
  • The Terriers enter the weekend with the top-ranked man-up unit in the NCAA, as they have converted on 63.4% of their EMOs this season.

HISTORY AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS

  • BU is 4-9 all-time against Lehigh and has won three of the last five meetings.
  • Lehigh earned a 13-12 overtime win over the Terriers in Bethlehem on April 20, 2024 and then edged the Terriers, 11-10, in last year's Patriot League title game.
  • Six of the last eight games have been decided by just one goal.
  • Three of the Terriers' four wins over Lehigh have been at Nickerson Field, including a 14-11 triumph on April 22, 2023, in a game that was also televised on CBS Sports Network.
