BOSTON – Riding an NCAA-best 30-game win streak against conference opponents, the Boston University softball team will resume Patriot League play at Holy Cross with Friday's doubleheader set for a 2 p.m. start time.

Both squads were originally scheduled to open the Turnpike Trophy series on Saturday, but the first two games were moved up a day due to expected inclement weather. The third matchup currently remains set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.

BU currently leads Holy Cross in the ninth-annual Turnpike Trophy all-sports competition, 11.5-3.5, after the Terriers captured a point in men's lacrosse (16-4) and fell in men's tennis (4-2) back on March 29.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU's 30-game win streak against conference opponents is eight victories better than Miami Ohio (Mid-American Conference) with Liberty (Conference USA) and North Florida (Atlantic Sun) the only other programs at double digits with 15 and 10 wins, respectively.
The Terriers will look to bounce back from Wednesday's 3-2 loss at Providence after the Friars scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Following sweeps against Bucknell and Colgate, junior Brooke Deppiesse is batting .455, while both sophomore Libby Walsh and freshman Addie Lucier are hitting an identical .381.
Sophomore Kylie Doherty has led off every PL contest at .370 with a team-high 10 runs scored and currently leads BU on the season at 32 RBIs.
In the circle, junior Kasey Ricard is holding PL batters to .207 with 33 strikeouts in 36.0 innings of work against just six walks allowed en route to four wins. Freshman Ava Johnson has the other two wins thanks to nine strikeouts in 9.2 innings.
Overall, BU is batting .304 and holding opponents to .226 with an 83-53 advantage in extra-base hits.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS

The Crusaders are 0-4 at home with a pair of losses to both Siena (9-4, 3-1) and Brown (2-0, 5-4).
Holy Cross started PL play suffering a sweep at Lafayette with 3-2 (8), 9-1 (5) and 7-5 losses.
The Crusaders most recently split doubleheaders at Merrimack and Stonehill. They also own wins at UMBC (4-0) and St. Peter's (8-4, 7-4) with a 5-2 victory over Morehead State.
Anna Brait is batting a team-high .321, while Ali Sniegocki is hitting .314 with five homers and 12 RBIs.
In the circle, Jordan Goedel (1-9, 4.34 ERA) owns a team-high 52 strikeouts in 61.1 innings, while Sophia Roncone (3-10, 5.35 ERA) has 44 strikeouts in 69.1 innings.
Holy Cross is batting .224 on the season and is holding opponents to .308 facing a 53-27 deficit in doubles.

SERIES HISTORY

BU leads the all-time series, 52-8, that dates back to 1989.
Last season, the Terriers earned a sweep at home with a combined score of 27-0.
In the last visit to Worcester back in 2023, BU won the series by a combined score of 26-1 with Ricard pitching a no-hitter in a 9-0 (6) victory.

LOOKING AHEAD

BU will conclude the five-game road trip on Tuesday (April 8) at Boston College with a 4 p.m. first pitch.
The Terriers have won the last six meetings, including the 3-0 victory at the FGCU Kickoff Classic back on Feb. 7.
