HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carr needed just 2:49 to make her first save of the match, catching Riley Kennel's header on one bounce near the left post.
- Loyola nearly scored in the 10th minute when a corner kick settled in a pile just in front of the goal line. The Greyhounds couldn't get a touch on the ball before the Terriers sent it away from danger.
- Starting in the 21st minute, BU had three opportunities to score. Senior Helene Tyburczy ripped a long-distance chance that Goetzer pushed over the crossbar. Junior Ciara Kennedy sent a shot from the corner kick wide left, then Gianino's try moments later went off Goetzer's hand and off the left post.
- With just over 11:30 until halftime, Manset worked in transition for a 1-on-1 opportunity with Carr from 15 yards out. Carr whipped her right hand on the try to redirect the ball to her right.
- Junior Samantha Aronson was fed down the right sideline in the 42nd minute and approached the penalty box, but her right-footed kick couldn't tuck into the left post.
- The Terriers had three more dangerous offensive chances in the 52nd minute. Senior Margy Porta had a one-timer atop the box sent away by Goetzer. Gianino secured the loose ball and was denied twice in a row, the latter just near the right post along the end line.
- In the 81st minute, junior Ava Maguire dumped a pass to Gianino for a 15-yard blast that narrowly missed the upper-right corner, keeping the game scoreless.
- Senior Mackenzie Stickelman attempted a shot inside the box with 20 seconds left in regulation, but the ball rolled wide left.
- BU recorded 10 shots in the first half and 11 in the second half, reaching the 20-shot plateau for the third time this season.
- The Terrier defense has allowed less than five shots on goal in its last five contests.
- BU held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
- Neither side sustained a yellow card.
- Carr, Stickelman Gianino, Tyburczy and senior Morgan Weaver played the full 90 minutes.
- All three of BU's clean sheets have come at home, where the Terriers are allowing just 0.5 goals per game.
- Freshman JJ Marzot made her first collegiate start, playing 61 minutes.
- BU's winless streak extends to six matches.
- The all-time series between the Terriers and Greyhounds now sits at 9-2-5 in BU's favor.
- BU travels to Army West Point on Wednesday (Oct. 1). Opening kick is slated for 6 p.m.
