The No. 20 Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 104th season this weekend when the Terriers play a home-and-home series with UMass Lowell on Friday (Jan. 16) and Saturday (Jan. 17). Puck drop on ESPN+ is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 6:05 p.m. on Saturday. An audio-only broadcast for both games will be located here.

TERRIER TIDBITS

The Terriers enter the weekend after going 2-1 in their first three games to open 2026.
BU bested Harvard, 4-1, on Monday night, thanks to four unanswered goals.
Freshman Conrad Fondrk scored the first goal for BU and classmate Jonathan Morello added the winning tally.
Freshman Ben Merrill and sophomore Sacha Boisvert both scored empty-net goals to add insurance late in the contest.
Sophomore netminder Mikhail Yegorov stopped 28-of-29 shots in the effort for the win.
He has allowed just two goals in his first three games in 2026.
Since Nov. 21, he has posted a 1.78 GAA and a .924 save percentage over nine games, allowing just 16 goals.
BU has outshot its opponents in eight of its last nine games after only accomplishing that feat twice in its first 12 games.
The Terriers are third in the nation and first in Hockey East with six shorthanded goals this season.
Hutson leads all Hockey East defensemen with 21 points (7g, 14a), including three game-winning goals, entering this weekend.

HISTORY WITH UMASS LOWELL

BU is 82-37-12 (.672) in 131 all-time meetings with the River Hawks.
The Terriers and River Hawks have played each other multiple times in 42 consecutive seasons.
BU has won four of the past five matchups between the two teams, including a split of the series last season.
BU is 15-9-3 (.611) against Lowell at Agganis and 19-18-5 (.512) at Tsongas Center.
In 18 overtime games, BU is 6-0-12 versus Lowell.

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS

UMass Lowell split a weekend series with UConn, winning 5-3 on Friday night before falling, 1-5, on Saturday.
The River Hawks' past seven countable contests have been against ranked opponents, and they have gone 2-7 in those games.
Senior Dillan Bentley leads the team with 17 points (10g, 7a) and has eclipsed his total points from a season ago (16) through 19 games.
His goals total of 10 ranks him third in Hockey East this season.
Graduate student Jay Ahearn—who scored twice in Friday's win over UConn—and freshman Dalyn Wakely are second on the team in points with 13 each.
Freshman Austin Elliott has played 15 games in net, posting a 2.79 GAA and an .896 save percentage, and Samuel Richard has made nine appearances, recording a 2.52 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
