Men's Lacrosse to Host No. 20 Navy on Saturday in PL Opener

The Boston University men's lacrosse team will open Patriot League play on Saturday afternoon when the Terriers welcome No. 20 Navy to Nickerson Field. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ beginning at 12 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is looking to bounce back from a 16-11 loss at Yale last Saturday.
- Sophomore Timothy Shannehan led BU with six points (4g, 2a) against the Bulldogs.
- He paces BU in goals (13), assists (12) and points (25).
- Shannehan is averaging 6.25 points per game, which is tied for second in the nation and is first in the Patriot League.
- He also ranks third in the nation and second in the PL in assists per game (3.00).
- Junior SSDM Luke Davis was outstanding last weekend at Yale.
- He recorded a career-best five caused turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
- No other short-stick defensive midfielder has totaled more than five caused turnovers in a single game this season.

HISTORY AGAINST NAVY
- BU is 3-7 against Navy, with two of the Terriers' three wins coming at Nickerson Field.
- The Terriers dropped a 13-9 decision to the Mids in Annapolis a year ago.
- BU last defeated Navy on April 2, 2022, a 17-9 Terrier triumph.
- Five of the last eight meetings have been decided by two goals or fewer.
SCOUTING THE MIDS
- Navy improved to 3-1 with two wins last week.
- The Mids defeated VMI, 19-12, on Feb. 17 before knocking off No. 11/10 Penn State, 12-11, on Feb. 21.
- PL Offensive Player of the Week Mac Haley leads the Mids in assists (8) and points (19).
- Twelve of those 19 points came this past week, including the Mids' final three goals of their win over Penn State.
- PL Defensive Player of the Week AJ Marsh leads Navy with six caused turnovers.
- Junior Zach Hayashi and senior Colin Shadowens are both 29-of-50 (.580) at the faceoff X.
- Hayashi paces the Mids with 19 ground balls while Shadowens has scooped up 16 ground balls.
- PL Goalkeeper of the Week Dan Daly owns a 9.76 goals-against average and a .451 save percentage.
