No. 20 Terriers Trek to Lehigh on Saturday

The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue conference play on Saturday afternoon when the Terriers travel to Lehigh. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ beginning at 2:30 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU began Patriot League play with a 15-10 win over then-No. 20 Navy last Saturday at Nickerson Field.
- Eight of the Terriers' 15 goals came from the offensive midfield, led by junior Tyler Fox's two goals and two assists.
- Fox was named to the USILA Team of the Week for his efforts.
- Sophomore Andrew Pape recorded a hat trick while senior Sam Burns, sophomore Mike Rooney and senior Ethan Hart also found the back of the net.
- In addition, short-stick defensive midfielder Charlie Huntley and junior LSM Donald Varnerin each scored.
- Varnerin has notched a goal in four of the Terriers' five games this season.
- Senior attackman Jimmy Kohr led all scorers with four goals and freshman attacker Peyton Forte finished the day with four points on one goal and a career-best three assists.
- Kohr has scored in 21 straight games dating back to last year.
- Sophomore Timothy Shannehan leads BU in goals (13), assists (14) and points (27).
- Shannehan is averaging 5.40 points per game, which is tied for fourth in the nation and is first in the Patriot League.
- He also ranks fifth in the nation and second in the PL in assists per game (2.80).
- BU killed off six of Navy's eight man-up chances in Saturday's win and also scored a man-down goal.
- The Terriers are second-best riding team in the nation through five games, holding opponents to a .677 clearing percentage; only Lafayette (.648) has been better this year.
- BU enters the weekend first in the nation with an average of 39.20 ground balls per game
- The Terriers are eighth in the country and first in the Patriot League with an average of 9.0 assists per game.
HISTORY AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
- BU is 5-9 all-time against Lehigh and has won four of the last six meetings.
- That includes a 12-7 victory at Nickerson Field last April.
- Six of the last nine games have been decided by just one goal.
- BU is just 1-4 against Lehigh in Bethlehem, with the one win clinching the 2022 Patriot League regular-season title.
SCOUTING LEHIGH
- The Mountain Hawks opened PL play with a 12-11 home loss to Bucknell this past Saturday.
- That was the third one-goal game of the season for Lehigh; the Mountain Hawks bested No. 17/19 Michigan, 14-13, on Feb. 14 and lost to Fairfield in double overtime, 14-13, on Feb. 6.
- Sophomore Luke Breslin leads Lehigh with 25 points on 10 goals and a team-best 15 assists.
- Freshman Finn Morgan, the reigning PL Rookie of the Week, paces Lehigh with 17 goals.
- Junior Connor Riley has won 54.9% of his faceoff attempts this season and leads the Mountain Hawks with 40 ground balls.
- Two-time All-American Richard Checo is second in the NCAA with 16 caused turnovers and is second on Lehigh with 15 ground balls.
- Junior goalkeeper Kasey Heath has started all five games for Lehigh, posting a 12.19 goals-against average and a .464 save percentage.
