Bill McDonald enters his 18th consecutive season and 22nd overall as an assistant coach at Boston University, working primarily with the Terriers' infielders and pitchers. During six of the last 10 years, he has helped lead the Terriers to the NCAA tournament.

He is currently in his second stint as a softball assistant after he served as an assistant with the team from 1991-94. During that time, he received a masters degree in education from BU's Wheelock College of Education.

In addition to his on-the-field duties, McDonald teaches biology at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in Cambridge, Mass.

A native of Somerville, Mass., the married McDonald has played men's major fastpitch for over 20 years. He has been named to the ASA's All-America Team and the ISC All-World Team.
