Robin Amylon started working as an assistant strength & conditioning coach and sports dietitian at Boston University in 2018-19. She spends time designing and implementing programs with the track & field, women’s rowing and women’s lacrosse programs. She also oversees a grad assistant and helps run the Terrier Fueling Station.
Amylon completed her master's degree in strength and conditioning from Springfield College in 2017. During her second year at Springfield, she was a part of the strength & conditioning staff as a graduate assistant, working with the men's lacrosse, women's gymnastics, field hockey and diving programs. Amylon was also the head sports dietitian for all teams. In addition to her duties with Springfield, she also spent time as an intern at UConn, assisting their strength & conditioning staff and head sports dietitian.
Upon completion of her master's degree, Amylon was hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and coordinator of sports nutrition for the 2017-18 academic year at Springfield. In that role, she helped supervise all strength & conditioning programs for the Pride's 24 varsity teams, specifically working with the men’s lacrosse and field hockey programs. As coordinator of sports nutrition, Amylon provided individual nutrition counseling, team talks, grocery store and dining hall tours, and cooking demos for all varsity athletes.
Amylon completed her undergraduate education at Queens College in 2011, earning a bachelor's degree in nutrition and exercise science. Amylon then finished her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) in New York City. Upon completion of that internship, Amylon continued with NYP as a nutrition fellow and then as a temporary full-time dietitian working with patients with eating disorders. She then worked at Hospital for Special Surgery as a clinical nutritionist.
A certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Amylon is also a Level I sport performance coach with USA Weightlifting. In addition, she is a registered and licensed dietitian/nutritionist and a board certified specialist in sports dietetics. Amylon has presented at various speaking engagements on nutrition, most recently at the National Strength and Conditioning Connecticut State Clinic on “Performance Nutrition Strategies for the Collegiate Athlete.”
Prior to her time in collegiate athletics, Amylon was a personal trainer for 10 years at various gyms in New York City. Although Amylon did not participate in collegiate sports, she performed as a dancer for many years and still enjoys taking classes and performing in her free time.
