Terriers Host Foot of the Charles

BOSTON - In the final regatta of the fall season, Boston University men's crew hosted the Foot of the Charles on Saturday, Nov. 17. The 2.4 mile race began at MIT's Pearce boathouse and finished across from Harvard's Newell boathouse. The Terriers' had six boats in the varsity fours and raced two freshman eights.

BU's "A" varsity 4+ placed second out of 47th crews. Stroked by senior co-captain Brandon Batey (Grimsby, Ont.) crossed the line in 13:35.2. The "B" 4+ finished 13th (13:59.8, while the "D" four placed 28th (14:35.4), the "C" four finished 31st in 14:41.6, the "E" four crossed 35th (14:52) and the "F" four placed 41st (15:28).

In the freshman race, the first eight stroked by Wijnand Schoemakers (Amersfoort, Netherlands) crossed the line in 14:40.4, while the second eight stroked by Mike Schmitt (Haddonfield, N.J.) placed 16th in 14:53.6.
