MADISON, Wis. - The Boston University women's soccer team (2-1-0) posted its second consecutive shutout with a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2-1-0) on Friday evening in Madison, Wis. Sophomore Farrell McClernon scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of action, while red-shirt freshman Janie Reilly made two saves in the shutout.

The Terriers struck early on McClernon's (West Chester, Pa.) first goal of the season at 9:09. After her initial shot was blocked by the UWM defense, McClernon collected the rebound and put it away for the early lead.

Through 67 minutes of action, the BU defense of Elizabeth Speck, Casey Brown, Lina Cords and Shannon Mullen kept the UWM offense at arm's length, facing eight shots, while keeping all of the Panthers' attempts off target.

Reilly (Coral Springs, Fla.) was tested in 68th minute with UWM's first shot on goal, as she stopped Nicole Hirsch's attempt. UWM managed one more shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but Reilly preserved the shutout with the stop.

UWM out shot BU, 12-5, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-2.

BU will face host Wisconsin on Sunday, Sept. 9 in a televised match at 3:00 p.m. EST. The game will be aired on the Big Ten Network, which can be accessed in the Boston area through DIRECTV's basic programming package.
