Swimming and Diving Program Hosts Brown in Exhibition Meet

BOSTON - In an warm-up exhibition meet, the Boston University swimming and diving program hosted Brown on Saturday afternoon at Competition Pool. The women's side featured 11 individual winners, while diver Andre Watson claimed first on the one- and three-meter boards for the men.

The 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Francesca Ferrante, sophomore Kristen Connors, junior Emily Munday and sophomore Maria McIntyre got things started for the Terriers with a victory in one minute, 48.25 seconds, and senior Eve Kinsella and Tullis followed up with a 1-2 finish in the 100 free with times of 49.37 seconds and 49.65 seconds, respectively. Kinsella picked up her second individual win of the day later on in the 500 free with a time of 5:02.65. Senior Tess Waresmith continued her dominance of the diving events with wins on the one-meter (299.93) and three-meter (310.95).

Also claiming individual wins for the Terriers was Connors in the 150 (1:42.84) and 50 breaststroke (31.07), sophomore Sarah Doersam in the 100 fly (1:32.40), Tullis in the 50 fly (26.22) and junior Brigette O'Shaughnessy in the 300 IM (3:21.51).

On the men's side, Watson swept both boards with scores of 304.50 (1M) and 349.93 (3M), while junior Arik Seiler picked up a win in the 100 free with a time of 43.42. The duo of sophomores Kyle Ernst and Nate Everett took first and second in the 50-yard breaststroke, while sophomore Bryon Kallert and freshman Justin Gilmartin took second and third in the 50 back. Also claiming individual wins for the men was sophomore Matt Rickett (50 fly) and freshman Jackson Hill (200 free).

The 500 free relay team of freshman Daniel Kempf, Hill, Rickett and Seiler won the final event of the afternoon in 4:08.36.

The swimming and diving program returns to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m. when it hosts Massachusetts at Competition Pool.
