BOSTON -
Junior Marisha Schumacher-Hodge tallied the game-winning goal in this weekend's spring contest against Brown University, as the Boston University women's soccer team earned the 1-0 victory. The Terriers had a dominating performance with numerous scoring opportunities and red-shirt freshman Janie Reilly maintained the lead earning shutout in net.
On the game winner, Schumacher-Hodge collected a feed freshman Lina Cords and found the back of the net to give BU the one-goal edge, which proved to be all it needed as the defense remained solid, allowing the Bears only one scoring opportunity, which Reilly saved at point-blank range.
The Terriers continued the offensive pressure, as sophomore Mara Osher's attempt was tipped over the cross bar, and red-shirt freshman Taleen Dimirdjian and sophomore Corie Halasz came dangerously close to scoring.
BU's spring record stands at 4-1-1 with two games remaining on the schedule. On Wednesday, BU will host Holy Cross in a 6:30 p.m. kick off, and then close out the spring at Providence on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
