LIVERPOOL, N.Y. - Boston University men's crew raced Columbia and Syracuse for the Lusins and Conlan cups, respectively, on the Onanadaga Lake on Saturday morning. The junior varsity eight finished second in its race.

The varsity eight got off to a good start, but its stroke rating fell in the second 500m as Columbia and Syracuse pressed on. An errant fishing boat further complicated the race for the varsity. Columbia won the race in 5:42.34, followed by Syracuse in 5:45.71 and BU in 5:56.91.

The JV eight was neck and neck with Syracuse over the first half of the course until about 1200m. The Orange opened a 1/2 length lead by 1400m. Columbia had fallen behind after its two-seat broke his seat. 'Cuse won in 5:55.5. BU was second in 5:58.9, and the Lions were third (6:27.5).

Host Syracuse moved out early in the first freshman eight, leaving BU and Columbia to duel for second. The crews stayed together, but BU caught a small crab at 1200m. The Terriers recovered quickly but were unable to catch the Lions. Boston University started at a 46 in the 2F; however, 'Cuse made a move at 800m and had open water by 1100m.

The 3V 4+ was raced as a scrimmage and had no official times.

BU returns to the water on Saturday, May 3 when the Terriers host George Washington.
