BOSTON - Backed by 12 individual victories and a triumph in the 200 medley relay, the Boston University women's swimming and diving team posted its second victory in as many days with a 166.5-125.5 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon. The men's squad remained undefeated in dual-meet action with its win against the Big Green, 159-130.
On the women's side, the 200 medley relay squad, led off by freshman Francesca Ferrante and followed by freshman Kristen Connors, senior Eve Kinsella and sophomore Maria McIntyre, got things going for the Terriers with a winning time of one minute, 49.47.
Junior Brigette O'Shaughnessy kept the momentum in Terriers' favor with a school-record breaking win in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:13.89, which bested the old mark by over four seconds. Kinsella was the winner of two events on the afternoon, beginning with the 200 free (1:54.29) and later on with the 100 free (52.83).
Freshman Kristen Connors continued with her outstanding rookie campaign with wins in the 50 breaststroke (30.86) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.66). Dominating the butterfly events was junior Emily Munday as she claimed the top spot in the 50 fly (26.64) and 100 fly (57.59).
McIntyre won the 50 free in 24.77 and later switched strokes and was victorious in the 100 back (1:00.27), while sophomore Sarah Doersam won the Terriers' last swimming event of the afternoon, picking up a first-place finish in the 500 free (5:09.46).
In the diving events, senior Tess Waresmith won on the one-meter board with a score of 348.00m which reset her previous mark in he event.
