PHILADELPHIA - The Boston University wrestling team suffered a 22-11 defeat against Drexel on Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Freshman Hunter Meys (174), sophomore John Hall (197) and senior Mike Roberts (149) all earned victories for the Terriers, who dropped a pair of one-point matches and another in sudden victory. BU now stands at 3-4-1 on the season.

The match began at 157, where senior Carlo Ferrandino dropped a tight 8-7 bout to Billy Haydt. After junior C.J. Inglin suffered another one-point loss (7-6) at 165, Meys posted an 18-11 decision against Dave Woodall to get BU within three at 6-3.

Redshirt freshman Dan Kennedy lost by major decision, 8-0, to Justin Wieller at 184 before Hall pulled off a hard-fought 6-5 win at 197 against 12th-ranked Jon Oplinger. Drexel had a point taken away for unsportsmanlike conduct after the 197 match, making the score 8-6 in the Dragons' favor.

The Dragons then reeled off four consecutive victories, beginning at 285, where Drexel's Kyle Frey managed to record a 6-4 sudden-victory win over senior Jim Connors. The run resulted in a commanding 22-6 lead for the home team. 

Senior Mike Roberts closed out the match with a technical fall with just 38 seconds remaining in his match at 149 against Robert Robinson.

The Terriers will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 31) when they host cross-town rival Harvard for a 7 p.m. dual.
