HARTFORD, Conn. - In its fourth game of the season against a major conference opponent, the Boston University men's basketball team (2-6) dropped a 92-64 decision to No. 13 Connecticut (5-1) Wednesday night at the Hartford XL Center. Junior John Holland scored a team-high 23 points and sophomore Jake O'Brien tallied his second career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman B.J. Bailey was the third Terrier in double-figures with a season-best 10 points along with two rebounds. As a team, BU shot 20-for-66 (.303) from the field and 7-for-25 (.280) from the 3-point line. The Terriers won the turnover battle, committing 12 against UConn's 17, but were outrebounded, 54-29.

Jerome Dyson was one of five Huskies in double-figures with a game-high 22 points, while Kemba Walker recorded an unconventional double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. Stanley Robinson was one rebound shy of another for UConn with nine total along with 16 points. UConn went 29-for-60 (.483) from the field and hit 30-for-35 (.857) at the charity stripe.

Without the services of seniors Corey Lowe, Valdas Sirutis and Scott Brittain, BU took its first lead, 6-5, at 17:47 when Tyler Morris drained a 3-pointer and would extend it to four, 13-9, at 13:16 when Bailey made two free throws.

Through the first 10 minutes of the game, the Terriers and Huskies were tied at 15 apiece, but the high-powered UConn offense would go on a 15-3 run en route to scoring 37 points in the final 10 minutes of the half.

After Bailey cut the deficit to nine at 1:07 off a layup, the Huskies scored 10 points in the final minute to enter the locker room ahead, 52-34.

The Terriers could never get into a rhythm in the second half offensively, as the Huskies built their lead to as high as 33 with 4:01 left in regulation.

With the win, UConn improves to 41-12 against the Terriers in their first meeting since 1997, when the Huskies hosted BU in the Preseason NIT.

The Terriers will next host Bucknell on Sunday at Agganis Arena with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
