The Boston University women's swimming and diving team defeated Brown, 204-96, on Saturday afternoon at Competition Pool. The Terriers won 14 events, which included three sweeps of the top three spots. Kristen Connors, Amanda Schmitz and Melinda Matyas each picked up two individual wins apiece.
The 200-medley relay team of Maria McIntyre, Connors, Emily Munday and Kirsten Tullis opened the afternoon with a victory with a time of 1:44.33. In the next event, Sarah Doersam led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:29.45. Megan Happ and Morgan Sawin followed in second and third with times of 10:43.24 and 10:52.61, respectively.
Rookie Lauren Drake and Brigette O'Shaughnessy continued in the Terriers' winning ways as they claimed first and second in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:53.67 and 1:54.53, respectively. Connors won her first individual event in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.40, and she was followed by Munday (2nd, 1:05.51) and Clara Van Allen (3rd, 1:07.78.). Connors later was victorious in the 200 breakstroke (2:20.73).
Schmitz's first win came in the 200 fly with a time of 2:04.46 and she later claimed top honors in the 500 free with a time of 5:04.14.
Diver Melinda Matyas continued her dominance in the diving events with victories on the 1M (258.45) and 3M (307.95).
Rounding out the Terriers' first-place finishers were McIntyre (50 free, 23.56), Katie Radin (200 back, 2:08.14) and Munday (100 fly, 55.41).
To close out the day, the 400 free relay team of Munday, Tullis, Drake and McIntyre blazed to a winning time of 3:29.00.
